Artist To Watch: Jake Morse

Originating from a small town in the South Shore of Massachusetts, Jake Morse, is a hip hop artist with big dreams.

Although he has multiple multiple rap mixtapes and EPs under his belt, Jake actually first started out playing drums in a rock band during middle school. His rap career began back in 2011 during his freshman year of high school, when he picked up a free recording app on his iPod Touch and used it to release his first self-titled mixtape in early 2012.

Since then, Jake has upgraded his equipment by getting a new mic, MacBook, and Logic Pro that has helped him release more crisp sounding music.

His sound is pretty interesting and you could tell that he draws inspiration from artists like Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, and Mac Miller. He may not be the most lyrical rapper around but it’s pretty easy to appreciate the wittiness he delivers in his rhymes.

His earlier projects gave him a bit of a local buzz, especially in his high school. But now he’s ready to take things to another level.

So far in 2018, he’s off to good start with his latest releases “Counting” and “Oh My Word”. It remains to be seen if he’ll be able to make enough noise in the music scene to truly make his mark. So, for now, we’ll wait and see.
